Soundproof Flooring

Acoustic Flooring & Floor Insulation

Acoustiblok floor sound insulation materials can be used in all types of soundproof flooring assemblies whether new build construction or existing floors/ceiling upgrades. Where noise is being heard through a floor/ceiling assembly, our advanced Acoustiblok 3mm or 6mm Isolation Membrane can be easily installed to the floor without greatly effecting the levels or thresholds or redesigning the entire buildup / project.

Acoustiblok 3mm Isolation Membrane offers a super thin solution which can also be installed into ceiling assemblies to achieve staggering levels of acoustic insulation without greatly reducing head heights below. Alternative acoustic principles or solutions can be very much thicker adding increased depth to the buildup and therefore further reduced tolerances.

Sound Insulation Between Floors

Acoustiblok soundproofing between floors works in a unique way by converting acoustic energy into a less problematic trace heat energy. This ultimately means it can achieve much higher levels of acoustic insulation without the need for increased floor height or reduced ceiling heights.

Acoustiblok Sound Isolation Material has been extensively tested acoustically by independent accredited facilities and is approved for use in more than 300 U.L. rated construction assemblies from typical concrete slab to timber frame.

An IIC (Impact Insulation Class) rating is an acoustic measure that is used to specify and compare different materials according to the reduction in noise levels the construction provides.

Extended frequency testing shows that a single layer of Acoustiblok 6mm Isolation Membrane installed into a timber frame floor joist assembly provides an impressive Impact Insulation Class of 54dB / LnTw 56dB.

This type of floor assembly is common within properties being converted from single occupancy dwellings into multi occupancy dwellings which require a higher acoustic rating.

With Acoustiblok acoustic flooring installed, these increased levels can be obtained with minimum shift in depth of floor.

Soundproofing Floors

Acoustiblok insulation materials are unique in structure, are recognised as advanced and unsurpassed for their high performance in soundproofing floors and a self extinguishing material.

Many other materials on the market like to purport to be the same as Acoustiblok soundproof flooring technology. They may be similar-looking but are invariably rubber or vinyl based, much heavier, do not have the same properties and certainly do not offer the same performance levels / criteria.

Acoustiblok has the highest grade rating (10) for protection against mould and mildew growth, is non hazardous, odour free, inert and will not diminish in performance.
