ACOUSTICAL SOUND SEALANT

Product Overview
Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant is an effective one-part, neutral curing, fire rated acoustic sealant formulated to bond and adhere to reduce sound transmission in all types of assemblies.
By design Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant creates and maintains Sound Transmission Class (STC) in applications where it is required, yet remains permanently flexible.
Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant is an essential part of our bonding system. A moisture curing elastomeric adhesive acoustic sealant for fixing and bonding.
Available as standard 310ml tubes our sealant is formulated to create a sustainable, flexible bond between layers of Acoustiblok 3mm Isolation Membrane and Acoustiblok 6mm Isolation Membrane to create an integral junction to prevent air leaks and air gaps in our sound barrier.

Usage
Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant may also be used and will provide excellent unprimed adhesion to create a seal between Acoustiblok Isolation Membranes and most building components such as concrete, masonry, rigid PVC, metal, plastic, glass and most other porous surfaces.
Used in a wide range of flexible acoustic, construction and expansion joints in buildings and also where compartmentalisation within buildings is required to control fire.
Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant remains flexible, malleable and generally resilient. It cross links at room temperature to give a flexible low modulus seal which will withstand movement of 25% in constant service throughout a wide temperature range. This aids in reducing flanking transmissions from vibrational energy present in ridged materials.
Once cured, the sealant offers superb long-term resistance to heat and fire as well as all other general weather elements.
Performance
Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant is not a contact cement. It is waterproof and tacks very quickly.
Drying time is dependent on exposure to oxygen. Edges of treatment areas will set more quickly than the inside of a join.
100% cure time is subject to the thickness of the bead of material used however is typically about 24 hrs per 2-3mm as long as air is exposed to the entire treatment area.
Acoustiblok AcoustiGrip Jointing Tape can also used to ensure the overlaps, joins and perimeters are further secured.
