ACOUSTIC PUTTY PADS

Product Overview
AcoustiPutty Pads are a flexible acoustic and intumescent fire stop pad designed to maintain a wall partition’s structural integrity and acoustic properties.
Simple to install with no specialised equipment required, AcoustiPutty Pads are a mouldable, non-curing, single component acoustical barrier material for electrical outlet boxes and similar acoustical penetrations in building partitions.
AcoustiPutty Pads are non-flammable with InFumescent fire protection properties.
To ensure effective sound isolation, all penetrations in walls, ceilings and floor partitions which allow any airflow must be sealed – sound goes wherever air flows.
Note: Conventional adhesives do not bond permanently to Acoustiblok sound barrier material. Most glues and tapes release within 5 days. AcoustiPutty Pads, Acoustiblok Acoustical Sound Sealant caulk and Acoustiblok AcoustiGrip Soundproof Insulation Tape have been formulated to permanently adhere to Acoustiblok sound barrier material, and to create and maintain an effective sound isolation barrier.

Usage
Before installation, ensure that all surfaces that the putty will come into contact with are free from grease, moisture and dust.
Peel off the plastic liner from one side of the pad. Align the pad to the box or other opening, and overlapping onto the Acoustiblok sound barrier membrane material, which should be cut out for a close fit.
Remove the remaining plastic liner, and mould by hand to ensure that the pad is securely fixed to the top and bottom of the box. Cut with a knife, and mould around any cables or conduits entering the box. Seal the pad to the Acoustiblok material or as necessary, use correct caulk and/or tape to establish an airtight seal between box and membrane material.
Note: one AcoustiPutty pad is normally sufficient for each box.
Performance
AcoustiPutty pads are designed to maintain the integrity and acoustic properties of flexible wall assemblies.
The pads are suitable for most flexible wall partitions constructed from timber and steel studs with all types of finishing board. For acoustic, fire and insulation resistance.
AcoustiPutty pads are manufactured from a red, non setting, silicone based intumescent polymer and tested in accordance with BS EN 1366-3 for up to 2 hour fire rating. Developed to maintain the fire resistance and insulation requirements and upgrade the acoustic performance where electrical outlets have penetrated the partition.
